Aadhaar Card Correction: Know how to correct/ update Aadhaar Card details?

UIDAI has given simple options for Aadhaar Card Correction or Update your details either online or offline method

We are explaining below the all processes to correct details.

Follow the steps and you will be able to correct your Aadhaar details.

Online method for Aadhaar card correction/ update

You can use the following method to update your address details on your Aadhaar.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Self Service Portal (SSUP) url: https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/ssup/

Step 2: Click on the ” Proceed to Update Address” button.

Step 3: Enter your 12 digit “Aadhaar Number” and do “Captcha Verification”.

Step 4: Click on “Send OTP” Button.

Step 5: Enter 6 digit OTP received on your registered mobile number click “Login”.

Step 6: Select “Update Address via Address Proof”.

Step 7: Enter your current address as per POA (Proof of Address) and click the “Preview” button.

Step 8: Review your address in English as well as in Local language.

Step 9:In case, you find any mistake in Address, Click “Edit”.

Step 10: Tick the declaration and click “Submit”.

Step 11: Upload your self attested scanned copy of POA for verification and click “Submit”.

Your Aadhaar update request submitted and 14 digit Update Request Number (URN) will be generated.

You can use this URN to check the status of the Aadhaar address update request. Once your request is accepted, you can download updated e-Aadhaar.

How to update Address without having address proof?

Suppose you changed your current location and you do not have valid address proof, you can update your current address in your Aadhaar.

To update your  address in Aadhaar without POA you can “Request for Address Validation Letter” from UIDAI.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.

Step 2: Click on “Request for Address Validation Letter”.

Step 3: Login with your Aadhaar.

Step 4: Enter Verifier Aadhaar number and click “Send Request”.

Step 5: An SMS will be sent to the Address verifier’s mobile number for his/her consent.

Step 6: Once the Verifier gives his/her consent, you will receive a link via SMS.

Step 7: Login with SRN received on your mobile.

Step 8: Preview address and edit in local language if required and click on “Submit”.

Step 9: After a few days, Aadhaar validation letter having a secret code is sent to the verifier’s address via Speed Post.

Step 10: Now login to SSUP.

Step 11: Click on “Proceed to Update Address”

Step 12: Enter your Aadhaar Number, enter Captcha and click on “Send OTP”. Then click on Login.

Step 13: Select “Update Address via Secret Code”.

Enter Secret Code and click Proceed.

Now select document proof as “Address Pin issued by UIDAI” and upload a scan copy of the letter with secret code. Click on the Submit button.

You will receive a URN to track update request.

How to change demographic and biometric details on Aadhaar

You need to visit “Aadhaar Enrolment Centre” to update following details.

1. Name on Aadhaar

2. Date of Birth

3. Mobile Number and email ID

4. Gender

5. Address

6. Biometric update

How to change Name in Aadhaar

Due to changes in life events such as Marriage, you may need to change demographic details such as Name. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Name” and fill your name.

Step 5: Enter your current number.

Step 6: Submit form with supporting documents for verification.

Step 7: Collect your original documents and acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 8: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to change Date of Birth (DoB) in Aadhaar

Due to an error made during the enrolment process, you may need to change DoB. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Date of Birth” and fill your DoB in DDMMYYY format.

Step 5: Enter your current number.

Step 6: Submit form with supporting documents for verification.

Step 7: Collect your original documents and acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 8: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to change Mobile in Aadhaar

Due to an error made during the enrolment process, you may need to change Mobile. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Mobile” and fill your 10 digit current mobile number.

Step 5: Submit form.

Step 6: Collect your acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 7: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to change Email in Aadhaar

Due to an error made during the enrolment process, you may need to change email ID. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Email” and fill your current Email ID.

Step 5: Submit form.

Step 6: Collect your acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 7: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to change Gender in Aadhaar

Due to an error made during the enrolment process, you may need to change gender on your Aadhaar. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Gender” and tick your correct gender.

Step 5: Submit form.

Step 6: Collect your acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 7: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to change Address in Aadhaar

Due to changes in life events such as Marriage, new home buy or change in job location, you may need to change demographic details such as Address. You must follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Address” and fill your address.

Step 5: Enter your current number.

Step 6: Select Verification type.

Step 7: Submit form with supporting documents for verification.

Step 8: Collect your original documents and acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 9: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

How to update Biometric (Photo, Fingerprint and Iris) in Aadhaar

You must follow below steps to update Biometric (Photo, Fingerprint and Iris).

Step 1: Visit Aadhaar Enrolment Centre

Step 2: Fill the Aadhaar Enrolment/ Update form.

Step 3: Fill your Aadhaar number (UID) in the form.

Step 4: Tick on “Biometric” and fill relevant details.

Step 5: Go to the biometric section and do the required process.

Step 6: Enter your current number.

Step 7: Submit form for verification.

Step 8: Collect your original documents and acknowledgement slip containing URN.

Step 9: Now, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 50.

You can select many entries to update at once.
